Three LWML Districts Met in Convention April 29–May 1, 2016
LWML Gulf States District
Judy Lessmann opened her first convention as LWML Gulf States District President at Gulfport, Mississippi, under the theme, "Direct my Footsteps According to Your Word," from Psalm 119:133. Over 135 attendees, with 27 first timers, celebrated in worship, Bible study, and gathered 7,000 Gifts from the Heart items for outreach. Delegates selected eight new mission grants and Jan Struck lightened the convention and banquet with laughter and inspiration.
LWML Montana District
LWML Montana District President Christine Wallace completed her term in Great Falls with the theme, "Nurturing Faith in Christ," based on 1 Peter 2:2. Convention activities were enjoyed by 85 attendees who heard Past LWML President Kay Kreklau share her personal LWML story and were encouraged to be grounded in their faith while trusting their Heavenly Father. Delegates selected five new mission grants and elected Shari Miller as their new President. She will lead Montana as one of the four districts hosting the 2017 LWML Convention in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
LWML Utah-Idaho District
The women of the LWML Utah-Idaho District gathered around the theme, "Saved to Serve," from Ephesians 2:10. President Linda Larson welcomed 146 enthusiastic attendees in Ogden, Utah. Nine Young Woman Representatives, all first time attendees, tied fleece blankets and six teens prepared May Day door baskets for each hotel room as ways of sharing their joy in service to the Lord. As another one of the four hosting districts for the 2017 LWML Convention, delegates were encouraged to prepare and participate in all levels of service leading up to the June 2017 convention and LWML’s 75th anniversary celebration.
